Austrian, Norwegian and Danish music ethnologists travelled since 1906 to the far north, to capture the unspoiled traditional ethnic music of the Inuit.
You can hear shaman songs from a long forgotten time of spirits – drum songs played by Inuit hunters, lullabies and even examples of sledge dog signals from 1937.
Recorded at people’s homes in Thule in 1906 – 1909 – 1937 and 1962.
